Job Description

Job Title: BIM Manager/Architect

Department: Architecture

Reports To: Senior Architect

Summary:

This role is responsible for managing and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and standards across all architectural, engineering, and interior design projects. The BIM Manager/Architect will also contribute to the design and production of construction documents for new and renovated hotels, working both independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities:

  • BIM Management:
    • Develop, maintain, and improve BIM systems and workflows.
    • Update and maintain BIM templates and standards.
    • Create and implement BIM execution plans for each project.
    • Manage BIM 360 cloud collaboration platform.
    • Lead clash detection and resolution processes.
    • Train and support project teams on BIM best practices.
  • Architectural Design & Production:
    • Provide architectural design services from conceptual design through construction administration.
    • Produce construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
    • Collaborate with internal design teams and external consultants.
    • Conduct site visits and field observations.
    • Review shop drawings and submittals.
    • Assist with construction administration tasks.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Effectively communicate design intent and technical information.
    • Participate in project meetings and presentations.
  • Innovation & Improvement:
    • Research and evaluate new technologies, products, and construction methods.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in architectural design and BIM management.
  • Software Skills:
    • Expert in Revit.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, or other 3D visualization software is preferred.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices.
    • Experience with construction document preparation and construction administration.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift 15-25 pounds intermittently.
  • May require lifting heavier equipment occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Experience with energy analysis and sustainable design practices.
  • Knowledge of building codes and jurisdictional processes.
