What You Will Be Doing

Our client is a leading Design-Build Mechanical Contractor serving Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional markets. They specialize in delivering top-notch mechanical solutions with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and quality.

We are currently seeking an experienced Detailer to join their dynamic team in Ames, Iowa. This position offers a competitive hourly rate, excellent benefits, and growth opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

• In-depth understanding of mechanical piping, plumbing, and HVAC Sheetmetal systems.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks within a 3D modeling environment.
• Expertise in routing, layout, clash detection, and coordination to produce complete shop drawings and 3D models.
• A working knowledge of Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP and Trimble Total Station systems is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Other Essential Functions

• Review engineering and contract mechanical drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Interpret and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and submittals to create detailed designs.
• Survey existing field conditions to identify and resolve conflicts.
• Create and optimize piping, plumbing, and HVAC Sheetmetal models.
• Facilitate or lead project coordination meetings with other trades to ensure seamless integration.
• Collaborate with the Prefabrication Manager to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
• 2+ years of detailing experience in mechanical, Sheetmetal, or piping systems.
• Field installation experience in Sheetmetal or piping is a plus.
• Autodesk Fabrication CAD MEP and Trimble Total Station training will be provided.
