  • Triage multiple project types of moderate complexity and adequately understand both the projects’ requirements and what the required supplemental documents are.
  • Prepare civil-site construction drawings that comply with building codes, AutoCAD standards, and engineering principles and maintain site-specific digital twin documentation post-construction.
  • Lead design strategies for discipline-specific decisions for assigned projects.
  • Regularly communicate with counterparts outside of the engineering department who represent the team managing site-specific designs; manage a single program type when needed.
  • Continuously learn and apply new industry concepts and technologies.
  • Understand and implement appropriate specialty engineering requirements (e.g., access road layouts; grading and stormwater designs; building structural, power, and code; etc.).
  • Manage vendors by writing detailed scopes of work for various field or design services for simpler projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Either a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field and three years of relevant experience, or an engineering technical degree and six years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D, and other common discipline-specific analysis tools for retaining wall designs and stormwater analyses required.
  • Professional Engineering license .
  • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible engineering experience with direct involvement in discipline-specific design solutions and designs as a primary job responsibility preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a capability to work both independently and with others to solve problems.
  • Approximately 10% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
