Job Description

Claims Adjuster - Commercial Auto (McAllen / Brownsville, TX)

Must reside within 25 miles of McAllen / Brownsville, TX. Position will necessitate a percentage of field work (on site) and desk work (remote) combined.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Establish timely contact with all applicable parties to a claim (insureds, drivers, witnesses, etc.), gather facts of the loss and clearly explain the claims process
  • Assess coverage, identifying and addressing potential coverage issues
  • Determine liability and document the claim file with details of the claim investigation
  • Communicate to applicable parties the rationale behind coverage or liability decision
  • Document information obtained regarding damages and resolve within assigned authority limits
  • Manage the assignment of claim to material damage for inspection and repairs
  • Maintain files notes and correspondence while performing multiple task associated with a fast-paced environment
  • Alert claims supervisor in the event of potential fraud, recovery escalation on the claim

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in handling commercial auto bodily injury claims - preferred
  • Texas All Lines Adjuster License - required upon hire
  • California Adjusters license – required within 90 days of hire
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish – required
  • Associates degree or above - preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to clearly document and communicate the basis for decisions made
  • Excellent written skill that demonstrate clear, profession and succinct communication for file documentation, internal communications and external correspondence
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Courteous and professional telephone communications
  • Ability to work in a team environment
