The Clinic Coordinator is a professional Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who works in collaboration with the physician and care team, to provide quality care that is focused on the well-being of the patient and the family. This position requires an individual who strives for quality patient outcomes, while utilizing strong interpersonal skills for the purpose delivering efficient care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision making is expected in the execution of all duties. The right candidate must strive to maintain the professional standards of nursing which include utilizing the theoretical framework of the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manage, and evaluate patient care. This position collaborates with the provider and reports to the Clinic Director. This position is hourly (non-exempt).

Qualifications: (as required for success in the role)

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ACEN or CCNE required)

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of Kansas
• Current CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with laboratory staff, nursing staff and physicians.
• Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
• Ability to lead co-workers to ensure efficient and appropriate services are delivered to patients
• Ability to exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders
• Ability to anticipate needs
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read and understand oral written instruction
• Ability to follow written protocols
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation
• On the telephone and in face-to-face contact with patients the Clinic Coordinator represents the doctors to these people, and by their personality, warmth and efficient helpful manner plays a vital role in the doctors practice. By exhibiting a cooperative, helpful manner toward other clinic employees the Clinic Coordinator can elicit cooperation and help from others when needed.
