Job Description

Norseman is looking for an on site Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to become its newest member of their talented engineering team in support of efforts at Offutt AFB . Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex computing systems, ensuring they meet business and technical needs. Involves a mix of system architecture, software development, and network infrastructure management.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Design and oversee the implementation of computing infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments
• Analyze system performance and implement improvements for efficiency, scalability, and security
• Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components across the system
• Develop security protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Provide guidance to junior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and serve as a subject matter expert
• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities
• Utilize automation tools and scripting languages to streamline system deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or new solutions to improve system performance and reliability
• Work with business leaders, software developers, and IT teams to align system capabilities with customer needs
• Prepare milestone status reports and deliver presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives

Required Education and Experience

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5-10+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, or a related technical role
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS)
• Expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN,
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, C++)
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)
• Security+ Certification
