Job Description

Location & Work Arrangement

  • City, State: Indianapolis, IN
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
  • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Interview Mode: In-Person Only.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Operations

  • Manage incoming cancer data reports from healthcare facilities, ensuring electronic storage and organization of faxed or mailed information.
  • Conduct death clearance follow-back tasks to ensure registry completeness (guidance provided).
  • Perform data pulls for "virtually pooled registry" requests to support approved studies from national agencies and the research community.
  • Update and maintain healthcare facility contact information within specialized software systems, including SEER*DMS and Web Plus .

Policy & Compliance

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and standardize registry policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) .
  • Ensure all data handling and communication strictly adhere to HIPAA and state privacy regulations.
  • Compose technically accurate correspondence and reports for agency partners and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: High preference for candidates certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) , formerly known as Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) .
  • Domain Expertise: Prior work experience specifically as a cancer registrar is highly desired.
