Job Title: Director of Nursing

Location: Chula Vista, CA (91911)

Pay Range: $115,000 – $150,000 (DOE)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 5:30 AM – 5:00 PM (typically completed by 3:00 PM)

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our dedicated team at a high-volume, state-of-the-art . This is a working leadership role, ideal for a hands-on clinical leader passionate about quality patient care and operational excellence. Our modern 3-room ASC performs over 400 ophthalmic procedures monthly, including cataract, oculoplastic, vitrectomy, glaucoma, and corneal surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and evaluate a multidisciplinary team of 5–8 Registered Nurses and 10–15 non-RN staff, including scrub techs and support personnel
• Actively rotate and provide leadership in Pre-Op, OR, and PACU to maintain patient flow and clinical quality
• Maintain and lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, including quality audits, peer reviews, and QI studies
• Ensure facility remains survey-ready and in compliance with regulatory standards
• Oversee staff scheduling and productivity to match caseloads and reduce overstaffing
• Monitor OR turnover time, aiming to maintain a 7–9 minute room turnover standard
• Ensure timely physician support and manage patient flow from admission to discharge
• Lead and coach staff on clinical best practices, including follow-up calls and efficient downtime use
• Manage facility supply orders, maintenance needs, and equipment readiness
• Report weekly metrics, including case volumes and staffing hours, to VP of Operations
• Foster growth by building relationships with local ophthalmologists and encouraging ASC utilization

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• At least 1 year of leadership experience (e.g., Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, etc.)
• Minimum 1–2 years in an ASC setting with hands-on experience in pre-op, post-op, and/or circulator roles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ophthalmology experience highly desirable
