Job Description
A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Director of Nursing Quality to oversee quality assurance initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role will focus on data analysis, performance improvement, and patient safety to enhance overall healthcare outcomes. Responsibilities
The Director of Nursing Quality will be responsible for:
Assisting the VP, Chief Quality Officer in monitoring compliance with hospital-wide quality improvement goals and initiatives
Collaborating with clinical staff, leaders, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in patient care, safety, and satisfaction
Developing and implementing quality assurance strategies to meet regulatory and accreditation standards
Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data reports to track performance improvement, trends, and areas needing intervention
Leading hospital-wide performance improvement projects and ensuring alignment with national and state quality measures
Educating staff on hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives, including Core Measure Indicators, Stroke Initiatives, and National Patient Safety Goals
Coordinating with external agencies and accrediting bodies for compliance and survey readiness
Overseeing and participating in hospital quality committees to drive strategic improvements
Ensuring a safe, professional, and patient-centered healthcare environment
Qualifications
~ Bachelors Degree
~ Current NYS License/Credential as a Registered Nurse (RN)
~3-5 years of hospital experience with quality reporting knowledge for regulatory agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, NYSDOH, OMH)
~ Strong knowledge of performance measures and reporting requirements, including NHQM, QCentrix, Premier, eCQM, ORYX
~ Experience in hospital and clinic operations, with a deep understanding of electronic health records (EHRs)
~ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for data tracking and analysis
Desired Skills
Masters Degree
Experience leading performance improvement initiatives within a healthcare setting
Strong regulatory compliance and survey readiness experience
Ability to analyze hospital events and trends to drive actionable improvements
Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools for quality analysis
