Job Description

Our client is seeking an Estimator to join their team! This opportunity is available to candidates with at least 3 years of experience in corporate interiors or commercial construction. Candidates must have experience working for a General Contractor or Construction Management firm.

Responsibilities

• Produce comprehensive bids for various projects, ensuring proper coverage of the scope of work and taking responsibility for bid dates, compiling bid information on bid day, and compiling the proposal for the client.
• Maintain industry contacts and stay informed about market conditions affecting pricing and scheduling.
• Manage the buyout process once a project is awarded.
• Understand the different trades and associated scopes of work.
• Write scopes and confirm that subcontractors include proper scopes in their bids.
• Compile bids into complete proposals.
• Write project qualifications as assigned.
• Read and understand technical drawings (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Civil).
• Read and understand project specifications.
• Write RFIs and manage bid information throughout the process.
• Ensure sufficient subcontractor coverage for bids prior to bid day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction related field
• Experience working at a General Contractor
• Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
• 5 years' of construction experience preferred
