Across North America, notable projects include The Purple Line Extensions section 3 in Los Angeles, Water Tunnel number 3 in New York City, Eagle Mountain Gas Pipeline and Kemano T2 tunneling projects in British Columbia, Canada, the Inter-Quarry Tunnel in Leesburg, VA and the Century Mine in Volga, WV. **_Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent_** **DESCRIPTION:** As an **Estimator I** at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to: + Assist with organizing and managing the bid process in conjunction with the Estimating Manager + Review and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, materials, and equipment requirements and costs + Travel to attend pre-bid meetings and site visits while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and consultants + Consult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine costs + Assist with the technical proposals and presentations + Assist with the preparation of post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control + Actively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis + Assist with maintaining date base of historical estimates and project information records **REQUIREMENTS:** + A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is required + 2 + years experience in heavy civil, mining, construction or a related area with good working knowledge of general engineering applications and construction practices + Previous experience with field engineering, estimating, project scheduling, and technical writing required + Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products, civil estimating software (preferably HCSS), and scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6). + Effective written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills + Ability to perform a variety of tasks and manage those tasks concurrently within firm timelines + Ability to read and understand construction documents including contracts, specifications, and drawings + Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills + Ability to function effectively within a team atmosphere + Ability to travel overnight as needed on an infrequent basis + Ability and willingness to visit sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment **_Frontier-Kemper builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
