Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire Alarm Installer at Benitez Fire Protection Company in Pickerington, OH. The Fire Alarm Installer will be responsible for installing and maintaining fire alarm systems, conducting inspections, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and NEC standards.

• Responsible for installation, programming, and testing of fire alarm systems per project design drawings
• Read and interpret fire alarm and electrical drawings and specifications
• Review drawings and verify that parts for the job are accurate
• Install and program fire alarm control panels and other equipment
• Mount devices, and install conduit (if applicable) and wiring to connect system components per design drawings and applicable building codes and standards
• Perform all tasks associated with fire alarm installation, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts
• Identify and repair any troubles and test all devices and components to ensure proper operation
• Perform final acceptance testing with the AHJ
• Produce reports and other documentation to certify the installation of the system
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical systems, and building codes
• Experience in installing and troubleshooting fire alarm devices and control panels
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Must have a State of Ohio Fire Alarm & Detection license
• Must own your own hand tools
• Experience in conduit bending and installation
• A minimum of 3 years of fire alarm experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• NICET FAS certification is preferred
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team
• Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills
• Customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask
• Ability to maintain schedules, ability to plan and organize
• Ability to troubleshoot fire protection systems
• Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers
• Ability to operate a computer or tablet and read electronic blueprints where required
• Must be able to work with Google, Microsoft, and other computer-based programs
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
• Must be able to comply with drug and alcohol policy and
• Must be able to pass background screening requirements
