Job Summary:

We seek an innovative and detail-oriented Protein Chemist with experience in food applications, or a Food Scientist with a strong background in protein chemistry, to join our core research team. The ideal candidate will specialize in protein innovation, conducting research and biochemical analyses to support the development of next-generation food products. This role involves close collaboration with the product development and protein processing teams to provide technical expertise on protein-based ingredients and their functionalities.

You will focus on understanding, analyzing, and optimizing proteins and other key ingredients used in food formulations. Responsibilities include performing experiments, developing new assays, interpreting data, and ensuring that protein ingredients meet functionality, performance, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform biochemical analysis of proteins and related ingredients in food products.
• Investigate ingredients and their interactions with proteins to enhance product quality and performance.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to optimize protein-based ingredients.
• Assist in troubleshooting and improving protein-related processes for food applications.
• Collaborate with the product development team to apply protein chemistry expertise in food formulations.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of experimental results, ingredients, formulations, and processes.
• Collaborate effectively with academic institutions and ingredient vendors.
• Stay current with advancements in protein chemistry and related scientific fields.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in food research and protein functionality, preferably with plant-based proteins.
• Experience in biochemical analysis, protein characterization, and quantification.
• Strong background in protein chemistry and analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectrophotometry, and electrophoresis.
• Understanding of protein processing, modification, extraction, and isolation (e.g., centrifugation, membrane filtration).
• Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• On-site role only; remote work is not considered for this position.
