GIS Analyst – Utility-Scale Solar & Energy Storage

An opportunity as a GIS Analyst for a leading renewable energy company focused on the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, energy storage and emerging technologies.

Position Overview

We’re hiring a GIS Analyst to play a key role in developing utility-scale solar and energy storage. This position will support the project development, land, environmental and engineering teams by providing geospatial insights, mapping expertise, and data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spatial analysis to support site selection, land acquisition, interconnection, and project development activities.
• Utilize GIS tools and techniques to analyze geographic data, identify suitable sites for solar installations, and assess environmental factors.
• Create high-quality maps and visualizations to communicate project-related information effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and consultants to integrate GIS analysis into project planning and decision-making processes.
• Provide mapping support for solar and battery storage project development activities
• Develop and improve system workflows, and automate tasks to best support the development team
• Participate in weekly team meetings to provide technical support on projects

Requirements

• 2+ year of GIS experience, preferably renewables, energy or environmental.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, or similar field
• Ability to be creative and problem-solve unique problems from a technological and spatial perspective.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
