Job Title: Injection Mold Machine (IMM) Operator

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2nd Shift (4:00 PM 4:30 AM EST)

Location: Florence, Kentucky (41042)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Base Pay: $22 - $27/hr (based on experience)

Shift Premium: $2.50/hr

Job Premium: $1.50/hr

Role Summary
Responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining Injection Mold Machines to ensure consistent production of high-quality molded parts. Supports efficient manufacturing operations through equipment setup, process monitoring, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Injection Mold Machines according to established procedures, safety standards, and production requirements
  • Perform machine start-up, shut-down, and changeovers, including mold installation and removal when required
  • Monitor molding parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) to ensure product quality and process stability
  • Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, or warpage; take corrective actions as needed
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on IMM equipment and auxiliary systems
  • Report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and quality issues promptly
  • Participate in pre-shift, toolbox, and safety meetings
  • Support failure investigations and root cause analysis for equipment or process issues
  • Maintain accurate production, downtime, and quality documentation
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance safety
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards at all times

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating Injection Mold Machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of plastic molding processes and materials
  • Ability to read work instructions, process sheets, and basic technical documentation
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
