Job Title : Network Engineer - III

Location : Aurora, CO

Job Description :

We are seeking a Network Engineer - III for a project-based role supporting Verizon. The contractor will be responsible for configuring and provisioning routers in a complex network, remotely integrating routers into the network, and working closely with field engineers to bring equipment online. The position requires advanced operation of switching transport data communications and peripheral equipment associated with the Mobile Switching Center (MSC). The contractor will also perform fiber transport testing to ensure fiber meets specifications.

Key Responsibilities :

• Router Configuration & Provisioning : Configure and provision routers in a complex network and integrate them remotely into the network.
• Collaboration with Field Engineers : Work with field engineers to ensure equipment is brought online in the Verizon network.
• Transport Testing : Perform transport testing of fiber to ensure fiber is functioning within specifications.
• Project Milestone Tracking : Work with multiple stakeholders to complete projects efficiently, updating trackers and completing necessary project milestones.
• Independent Work : Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment with minimal supervision to ensure successful project completion.

Must-Have Skills :

• Router Configuration & Provisioning : Strong experience with configuring and provisioning routers, ensuring they are integrated into the network.
• CCNA/CCNP or Nokia NRS Certification : These certifications are required.
• Transport Equipment Experience : Hands-on experience with transport equipment, understanding its functionality and integration into networks.
• Telecom Switch Experience : Experience working with telecom switches and related equipment.

Desired Skills :

• Verizon Wireless Experience : Previous experience working with Verizon Wireless switches or networks is preferred.
• Nokia Router Configuration : Familiarity with Nokia routers and configuration processes is a plus.

Education & Certifications :

• Education : A technical degree in Networking , Electronics , Telecommunications , or Computer Science is desired.
• Certifications : CCNA , CCNP Routing and Switching , or Nokia NRS Certification is highly desired.
