Title: IT Engineer - Windows Desktop – Windows 10/11, M365, Active Directory, MS Teams, CrowdStrike, VPN Support

Location: Carson City, NV (Onsite – 5 days a week)

At Rocket EMS, we’re seeking an IT Engineer - Windows Desktop Support with a can-do attitude, strong technical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional user support. If you have experience with Windows 10/11, M365, Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, CrowdStrike, VPN troubleshooting, and file share management, we want you to be a part of our team!

This is an onsite role located at our Carson City office, where you'll be working 5 days a week. You will be part of the Rocket EMS IT team, reporting directly to the Manager - IT End User Services, and playing a crucial role in ensuring seamless IT operations across the organization.

About the Role:

As an IT Engineer - Windows Desktop Support , you will be responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing desktop systems for end users. From resolving Windows 11 issues, supporting M365 and Microsoft Teams , to managing CrowdStrike and file shares , you’ll ensure that our systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Additionally, you’ll handle VPN connectivity issues and support hardware infrastructure as needed. You’ll also play an essential role in new hire onboarding, handling new system builds, existing system support, and offering desktop support to keep operations running smoothly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Windows 11 Desktop Support & Imaging:

  • Lead installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows 10/11 desktops.
  • Create and maintain system images for secure, efficient, and consistent deployments.
  • Ensure that desktops are regularly updated and maintain compatibility, security, and performance.

User Onboarding/Offboarding:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees, including system setups and user account creation.
  • Prepare and configure desktop systems, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Offboarding (account/app disable, asset retrieval)
  • IT Asset Lifecycle management

New System Build:

  • Build and deploy new desktop systems, ensuring they are configured for optimal performance and security.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless system integration and deployment.

Existing System Support:

  • Provide ongoing support for existing desktop systems and troubleshoot issues related to Windows 11, M365, Active Directory, Teams, and more.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure systems stay secure and functional.

CrowdStrike Endpoint Security:

  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot CrowdStrike for endpoint protection.
  • Address any CrowdStrike deployment or performance issues.

BitLocker Encryption:

  • Oversee BitLocker encryption deployment, management, and troubleshooting to ensure robust data security for all devices.
  • Provide BitLocker recovery support and resolve related technical issues.

M365 & Microsoft Teams Support:

  • Provide support for M365 applications and troubleshoot installation or functionality issues.
  • Resolve Microsoft Teams setup, connectivity, and collaboration issues.

Active Directory:

  • Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory for user and group management, authentication, and directory services.
  • Perform AD integration, user provisioning, and deprovisioning tasks.

File Share & Network Support:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot file share systems, ensuring smooth access, permissions, and security.
  • Resolve network connectivity issues and LAN cabling problems.

VPN Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide expert-level support for VPN connectivity, ensuring secure remote access for users.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize VPN performance to guarantee reliable connections.

Desktop Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide ongoing desktop support to resolve any technical issues, including hardware failures, software problems, or system errors.
  • Ensure quick and efficient resolution to minimize downtime.

Team Collaboration:

  • Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude .
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the IT team and with end users, ensuring effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Exceptional Customer first attitude is a Must

Required Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • 5+ years of experience in Windows 11 desktop support and management.
  • Strong experience in new hire onboarding, including system setup and user account creation.
  • Proficiency with M365 applications, including troubleshooting common issues.
  • Extensive experience with Active Directory, managing users and groups.
  • Hands-on experience with CrowdStrike for endpoint protection and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in resolving file share issues, network connectivity, and LAN cabling problems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and support VPN connectivity for secure remote access.
  • Strong background in desktop support and issue resolution.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • MS Entra (Azure AD) experience for identity management.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Intune for mobile device and endpoint management.
  • Experience with Print Services , ensuring functionality across the network.
  • Familiarity with Dell Hardware (laptops, desktops, peripherals).
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and system management tasks.
