Our client is currently seeking a Kubernetes Engineer

This position is Hybrid to Downtown Chicago (3 days a week onsite).

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced Kubernetes administration, operational support, and problem resolution for a large, complex Kubernetes environment, including both virtualized and cloud servers.
• Perform Kubernetes cluster administration, including changes, resizing, installation, and support.
• Utilize your CI/CD knowledge to maintain infrastructure and networking of cloud-based infrastructure (predominantly on AWS) involving EC2, S3, ELB, and VPC.
• Use configuration management tools (Ansible and Terraform) to build and maintain a hybrid infrastructure hosted both at colocation facilities and in the public cloud.
• Collaborate directly with the development team to build supporting infrastructure for specific new application functionality.
• Support Linux-based Kubernetes RKE2 environments in VMware or AWS, including changes, adding/removing systems, and other system management tasks.

Experience Required:

• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes systems, Rancher RKE2, EKS, or OpenShift, with hands-on experience deploying clusters and maintaining their lifecycle using CI/CD tools.
• In-depth Kubernetes administration knowledge and skills for RedHat Linux. Knowledge of Amazon Linux is a plus.
• Experience using GitHub or other version control tools for source code management.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and container tools such as Podman.
• Ability to write and maintain automation code and scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
• Experience with DevOps activities and using CI/CD pipeline software to deploy code.
• Working knowledge of cloud components and services in AWS or Azure.
• System administration experience and knowledge of VMware and administration of virtual servers.

Rate: $65-80/HR
