Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a Site Maintenance Manager/Supt. that will be based at our newly constructed Nederland industrial gas facility in Nederland, TX. This position will report to the Maintenance and TAR Director and will work with stakeholders to achieve strategic reliability goals within the South Region.

This position leads the maintenance execution team, including direction-setting, personnel development, oversight of work quality, development and implementation of improvements and measurement of results.

This position is responsible for providing oversight and coordination of maintenance activities at all operating units within the facility. This position also has primary accountability for ensuring the safety and efficiency of these personnel.

Key responsibilities:

• Acts as a champion of the maintenance execution work process in support of the business goals and safe, quality, reliable and competitive maintenance services.
• Responsible for personnel development and performance management for technicians and salary employees.
• Provides overall management of maintenance and operations work orders including creation (as needed), prioritization, release, review of plan and closure.
• Assures and optimizes maintenance execution practices and procedures to achieve cost-effective results, including efficient scheduling of resources, proper training and performance of craft personnel, and high-quality execution of work with a focus on Safety and Reliability.
• Leads execution and safety of major and minor planned and unplanned unit shutdowns, including job plan and critical path schedule development and tracking and closeout of activities.
• Plant Focal point for turnaround group during scope development process.
• Performs regular review of maintenance execution quality and efficiency.
• Shares best practices with peers in other US regions within Linde.
• Responsible for implementation and utilization of disciplined maintenance execution practices and standards.
• Develops maintenance budgets and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting and adjustments.
• Supports the use of Maintenance and Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) along with other input to drive performance and implementation of improvements as appropriate.
• Assures support for turnaround organization and special projects as required.
• Approves and prioritizes maintenance work notifications in CMMS (Hexagon) to ensure that maintenance is properly directed toward the goals of plant reliability and availability in a cost effective, productive manner.
• Responsible to eliminate unnecessary work and manage the backlog of approved work.
• Communicates daily with the Facility Management to clarify work priorities and to react to schedule interruptions.
• Provides troubleshooting support to operations personnel as needed and works with various departments as required to obtain technical and procurement support.
• Participates in root cause failure analyses and in corrective actions for bad actors
• Develop formal networking and best practices to share and support sister plant being built

This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires accessibility during off-hours. Employee will be required to work in different weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets. Limited travel expected for training and business needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering with 5 years of industrial reliability/maintenance experience OR minimum 10 years of industrial reliability/maintenance experience.
• Experience in leading and executing emergency maintenance response and planned outages for industrial plants.
• Understanding of standards and best practices in installation, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance of industrial systems and equipment such as compressors, turbines, high speed rotating equipment, motors, electrical distribution systems and sub stations.
• Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
• Must be a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and achieves results with minimal supervision.
• Must have a thorough understanding of equipment and overall plant operating processes including mechanical and instrumentation equipment and mechanical integrity programs.
• Must have technical competencies of troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, general computer skills, work planning and estimating.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with HyCO, ATR, and air separation processes, assets, and operations.
• Experience with CMMS systems (such as Hexagon), IMMS systems (such as ProCal) and ERP systems (such as JD Edwards).
• Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health procedures and compliance.
