In this pivotal role, and in partnership with the Agency Managing Director, you will shape the future of Area 23 on Hudson by leading the medical strategy team, engaging senior clients, refining our offerings, and driving business development—all while harnessing the power of the IPG Health network to deliver unparalleled impact.

Your Opportunity to Lead

As Managing Director (Medical Strategy), you will:

  • Lead with Medical Excellence: Oversee and elevate medical strategy across diverse therapeutic areas, turning scientific insights into bold, actionable strategies that set our clients apart.
  • Shape Our Future: Collaborate with agency and network leadership to develop innovative offerings that align with IPG Health’s mission to deliver science that's sexy, not starchy, and content that's cool, not cliché.
  • Inspire and Mentor: Build and develop a high-performing team of Medical Directors, fostering a collaborative culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Strengthen Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate senior-level client relationships, providing expert counsel and reinforcing Area 23 on Hudson's reputation as a trusted, forward-thinking partner.
  • Drive Business Growth: Lead new business initiatives, craft compelling medical strategies, and identify opportunities for growth within the agency and across the IPG Health network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and guide teams in translating complex medical information into actionable insights.
  • Partner with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to drive data-driven solutions and innovative offerings.
  • Serve as the senior medical point of contact for key clients, delivering strategic guidance and thought leadership.
  • Oversee the financial health of the medical strategy team, ensuring resource optimization and fiscal accountability.
  • Champion collaboration across IPG Health agencies to deliver comprehensive brand solutions.

What You Bring

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a clinical or scientific discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in medical communications or related industries.
  • Proven leadership, strategic, and mentorship capabilities.
  • Expertise in P&L management, business development, and senior client engagement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and confidently.

Salary $270,000 - $310,000

The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
