Title: Mechanical Inspector (2nd shift) LOCATION: Woburn, MA Duration : Long term contract Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured parts and assemblies meet specified standards and tolerances. Using tools like CMM and understanding GD&T principles are critical aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities # Inspection Tasks: # Use CMM to perform precise measurements of parts and assemblies. # Verify dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features per engineering drawings . # Understanding GD&T: # Interpret engineering drawings and specifications with GD&T annotations. # Verify form, orientation, location, and runout tolerances on parts. # Documentation: # Record and document inspection results in reports. # Provide feedback to production teams on detected deviations. # Collaboration: # Work with design, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues. # Assist in troubleshooting problems related to machining and assembly processes. # Equipment Management: # Calibrate, maintain, and operate precision inspection equipment, including CMMs and manual tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Skills and Qualifications Technical Knowledge: Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso). Measurement Tools: Familiarity with both automated (CMM) and manual inspection tools. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail for verifying high-precision parts. Software Proficiency: Experience with CAD/CAM software and interpreting 3D models. Communication Skills: Ability to document and communicate inspection findings effectively.
