Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate should have experience working with children, strong clinical skills, and a passion for pediatric healthcare. This position involves both administrative and clinical duties to support our providers and ensure a smooth patient experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring a child-friendly and comforting approach
• Obtain and record vital signs, patient histories, and medical information in our electronic health records (EHR) system
• Assist pediatricians during examinations and minor procedures
• Administer vaccines and medications as directed by the provider
• Manage Washington State Vaccine for Children program participation
• Perform basic lab tests, collect specimens, and prepare them for processing
• Provide patient education on health topics, medications, and follow-up care
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, medical equipment, and supplies
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing patient records
• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and the healthcare team
• Adhere to clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a pediatric or family practice setting is a plus
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems, previous experience with Athena EMR a plus
• Experience with WAIIS vaccine program a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and families
• Ability to multitask
• Phlebotomy Experience or willingness to train is a plus
• CPR/BLS certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
