Job Description

Department: Patient Safety. Work Hours: Primarily daylight Monday thru Friday. The incumbent is responsible to direct all aspects of the Heritage Valley Health System patient safety program. Specifically, the incumbent in this position is responsible for reviewing; investigating and ensuring appropriate follow up on all event reports, and submitting reports through the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting System (PA-PSRS). The incumbent will function as the primary liaison for the Patient Safety Committee. The incumbent will function as the Patient Safety Officer for the three hospital campuses, including the Surgery Center. Requirements Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in an acute care hospital environment. The incumbent must have knowledge of The Joint Commission, Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority, and Pennsylvania Department of Health patient safety regulations and standards. Preferred Master’s degree, Patient Safety Certification.
