Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic Periodontal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Periodontist during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties; as well as impeccable time management skills, as we are a very fast paced Practice.

Duties

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile environment by following proper infection control protocols.
• Provide support to the surgical team during procedures, ensuring all necessary tools are readily available.
• Document patient information accurately, take x-rays, and maintain medical records.
• Collaborate with dental professionals in various specialties including Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and General Dentistry.
• Utilize software such as Dentrix for scheduling and documentation purposes.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide reassurance.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in dental assisting with a focus on surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is essential.
• Experience in surgical dentistry or other specialized fields is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle medical documentation efficiently and accurately.
