Job Description

The Wound Care Provider (MD/DO) reports to the CMO and supervises nurses and medical assistants.

Job Summary

Provides specialized, onsite wound care in patients’ homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, patient and caregiver education, and collaboration with healthcare teams to promote healing.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing, active MD/DO license, wound care certification within 6 months, minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience, and ability to work independently.

Job Factors

Requires physical effort, including lifting and mobility tasks; involves travel within the region; exposure to biohazards; and adherence to safety protocols. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Essential Functions

Conduct regular wound assessments, perform treatments, supervise staff, document patient interactions, coordinate care, and maintain confidentiality. Must possess strong assessment and communication skills, adaptability, and professionalism.
