Position Overview:
As a Podiatrist within the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospital Network, you will diagnose and treat foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions while addressing the unique challenges of patients in a psychiatric setting. Qualifications:
?Education: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited program.
?Licensure: Active Indiana state podiatry license; DEA certification for prescribing medications
?Experience: Completion of a podiatric medicine residency program.
?Technical Skills: Proficiency in minor surgical procedures (non-operating room); Prescription of orthotics and therapeutic treatments; Diabetic foot care and preventive education
?Soft Skills: Strong communication for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; Empathy and adaptability in a psychiatric care setting
Key Responsibilities:
?Conduct medical histories and physical exams focused on foot|ankle health.
?Diagnose and treat conditions (e.g., bunions, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot ulcers).
?Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., ingrown nail removal).
?Prescribe orthotics, medications, and therapeutic interventions.
?Collaborate with psychiatric and medical teams to address mobility challenges.
?Educate patients on preventive foot care and hygiene.
?Maintain compliant and accurate electronic health records.
