Project Manager

Location: Houston - Hybrid Role

Sector: Renewable Energy

Compensation: $120k - $140k + bonus + profit sharing

The Business

Our client is a PE-backed IPP focused on owning and developing renewable energy projects.

Job Functions

• Oversee and manage relationships with EPC contractors and energy storage suppliers.
• Coordinate all phases of projects, from engineering through the completion of construction.
• Work closely with the finance team to support due diligence for funding activities, including debt and tax equity financing.
• Provide stakeholders with regular updates on project budgets, schedules, and progress.
• Identify and resolve design or interface issues during construction by collaborating with internal and external teams.
• Actively optimize project execution to achieve performance and financial targets.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and ESG requirements during project execution.
• Maintain adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.).
• 5–10 years of experience managing engineering or construction projects, ideally within the energy sector.
• Previous experience with a reputable EPC or engineering firm is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of utility-scale project development, including power plant design and substation engineering.
• Proven ability to manage supplier and contractor relationships effectively.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to drive project optimization.
• Proficiency in managing budgets and schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
• Solid knowledge of safety and ESG compliance standards in large-scale energy projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, including finance and legal.
