CLAIMS ADJUSTER/EXAMINER

Responsible for examining & approving property/casualty claims while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Process property/casualty claims following the guidelines of the insurance policy.
• Analyze and evaluate liability, settlement values, & coverages.
• Establish and adjust reserves adequately based on claim & coverages.
• Check and approve independent adjuster’s bills and other claim related expense.
• Review investigations, related forms, and reports to make final determinations.
• Review claim for subrogation possibilities,
• Provide exceptional customer service to agents, insured’s, independent adjusters and attorneys.
• Attend depositions, pre-trial conferences and trials as circumstances require.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• 5 years NY Property/Casualty insurance experience
• Property Claim experience is preferred
• Customer Service
• Professionalism
• Time Management
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational Skills
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
