PositionSummary: The Radiation Therapist is responsible forlocalization of treatment areas and administration of radiation treatments topatients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist. MinimumQualifications: Graduated from anaccredited Radiation Therapy school American HeartAssociation BLS American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) Three (3) years ofexperience in a similar role and knowledge of electronic health recordoperating systems. EssentialJob Functions: Administers radiation therapy Ensures all documents required for treatmentare completed. Performs simulations and simulationradiography (i.e. CT, MRI, and PET) to localize treatment area while confirmingtreatment plan with the Radiation Oncologist. Educates patientregarding procedure on first day of treatment. Observes allsafety regulations concerning ionizing radiation both for self and patients andreporting any incidence outside of normal operating parameters to the MedicalPhysicist. Attends weeklychart rounds and monthly department meetings. Maintains a safeand clean environment within the work setting. Performs other duties as assigned. Shift: Day Shift. Mon-Friday, typically 8 hour shifts. Guaranteed 32 hours, can work up to 40 hours. 4 days a week can work up to 5.
