Heights Vision is a family-owned private optometry practice in Brooklyn Heights. We are seeking to hire a 2025 pre-optometry graduate to help with Front Desk Reception / Ophthalmic Technician for the doctors. The candidate will be fully trained on the job and will integrate valuable skills in a doctor's office
The candidate will also learn to use Eyefinity, an application program used by many optometry offices in the country – this is a very real-world and valuable skill to have.

Front Desk Duties:
📞 Answer phones, emails, and digital faxes
📆 Schedule appointments electronically
📄 Obtain insurance verification and submit claims online
👁 Order contact lenses electronically
👩🏻🏫 Teach contact lens usage
Technician Duties:
🥼Auto-refraction, lensometry, visual acuity, retinal imaging (OCT), automated visual field, fundus photography
⏰ Availability: Part-time hours, 3-4 Weekdays 10am-6pm
💵 Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (Based on experience)

🦠 Medical Office: This is a medical practice and staff are recommended to wear a mask in the office. The office is equipped with hand sanitizer, gloves, air purifiers, etc.
⭐️ Upon completion of working in this role, the Pre-Health / Pre-Optometry student will have developed a better sense of professionalism in medicine, improved skills in effective communication, a clear understanding of vision care, and a better appreciation for the patient/physician relationship. From an educational standpoint, the candidate will receive mentorship from board-certified optometrists and opticians, with whom they'll work closely each day.
