Recorder - Part Time - Department of Justice

The Position:

We are seeking detail-oriented candidates with strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills to support the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in evaluating grant applications. The Recorder will be responsible for observing and documenting consensus comments and opinions from experts debating the merits of applications for DOJ grants. This role involves facilitating meetings and discussions among panels of subject matter experts and crafting consensus reports in compliance with DOJ policies, regulations, and laws relating to the Violence Against Women Act. This is a 2-month contractual assignment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Observe and document consensus comments and opinions from experts during grant application evaluations.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions among panels of subject matter experts.
  • Follow DOJ guidance to craft consensus reports ensuring compliance with DOJ policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Collaborate with DOJ Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) staff and subject matter experts to write and edit clear and concise feedback on grant applicants’ proposed programs.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public administration, social work, or communications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in documentation or facilitation roles, preferably in a government or non-profit setting.
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with the Department of Justice or similar federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of the Violence Against Women Act and related programs.
  • Experience in grant writing or grant management.
  • Familiarity with DOJ policies and regulations.

Censeo Consulting Group is based in Washington D.C., a fantastic city for working professionals. We work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home and work in our office conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks away from the White House. And with many of our clients also based in D.C., we have the luxury of leaving for a meeting and being back in the office in time for post-work happy hours, team dinners, and game nights.

The Fine Print:
  • The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and contract length
  • Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs 
  • This is a part-time, contractual position for a duration of 2 months.
  • This role is subject to a hybrid work schedule in the Washington D.C. 
  • Essential Physical Functions
    • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
    • Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
