Kelaca is partnering with a trusted solutions integrator that is actively looking to hire a Senior Confluent Consultant based in Austin, TX to support high-impact engagements with a Fortune 100 financial services client. Confluent powers mission-critical, real-time data. This role sits at the center of designing, building, and handing off production systems clients can trust.

What You Will Do :

Architecture & Implementation

• Design and deploy event-driven systems on Confluent Platform or Confluent Cloud using Apache Flink and Kafka Streams.
• Modernize legacy data flows into real-time patterns, defining microservice boundaries where appropriate.
• Build production-ready systems with CI/CD, observability, and security frameworks.

Client Enablement & Consulting

• Deliver training and handoff sessions to client engineers as part of acceptance.
• Produce clear runbooks, documentation, and system diagrams.
• Translate technical solutions into business terms for client stakeholders.

Collaboration & Compliance

• Partner with Confluent teams and client stakeholders to align on technical and business outcomes.
• Ensure all implementations meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Operate with consulting professionalism – balancing delivery with relationship-building.

Must-Haves:

• Proven consulting background with billable delivery at a systems integrator or consultancy.
• Vendor-grade Confluent expertise with multiple production deployments using Flink or Kafka Streams on Confluent Platform or Confluent Cloud.
• 5+ years Linux in production including configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years designing and operating high-throughput systems on AWS or GCP or Azure.
• Skilled in architecting and developing microservices, with hands-on experience in coding, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security.
• Experience delivering client training and producing clear runbooks and diagrams.
• Track record of shipping to production in enterprise settings with monitoring, SLOs, RBAC or ACLs, and Schema Registry compatibility.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Deep hands-on skills with connectors, Schema Registry, RBAC and ACLs, platform hardening
• Event-driven application development beyond pipelines
• Languages: Shell, Java, Python. C, C++, JavaScript, or Rust are a plus.
• Prior work in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Confluent certifications for developer or administrator.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Austin, 2 remote.
• Operate within a regulated enterprise client, balancing speed with compliance.
• Project-based rhythm with defined milestones and renewals.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm
