We are in the professional coffee machine business at SEB Professional with three core coffee equipment lines of Schaerer, WMF, and Curtis.

What you'll do?

We are seeking an innovative Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering principles, with a focus on integrating these disciplines to design and develop advanced mechatronic systems. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, testing, and implementing cutting-edge mechatronic solutions across various system and subsystems.

Pay range: $100,000 to $125,000.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechatronic systems by integrating mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Conduct feasibility studies to identify optimal solutions for mechatronic applications.
• Create detailed designs, schematics, and prototypes using CAD software and other relevant tools.
• Understanding and experience with servo motor/actuator design and control systems, including motors, gears, bearings, sensors, actuators, servo drive, …
• Test and validate new components including sensors, actuators, motor drives, etc. …
• Familiarity with Selecting, integrating, and calibrating of sensors, actuators, servos, and data acquisition.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to design and analyze mechanical components and systems.
• Familiarity in designing for quality, manufacturability and serviceability aspects.
• Knowledge in flow dynamics, and heat transfer.
• Knowledge of working with electronic circuits.
• Knowledge of control theory and designing a control system.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience in mechatronics design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of sensors, actuators, motors, and other hardware components commonly used in mechatronic systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• This position demands direct, hands-on involvement across development and implementation phases.
• Conduct design reviews and take ideas from concept to reality. This includes designing and performing engineering and prototype builds as required.
• Requires some experience in project management, including the ability to manage projects from conception to implementation.

Working conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Extensive work on a computer and phone. Walking, sitting, and driving are key components of the job as well.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
