Collider is looking for an eager and talented Freelance Soap Opera Writer to join the team.

Collider is the ultimate source for impactful entertainment news. We deliver the biggest, most important industry happenings, and provide deep analysis and sharp commentary through interviews, reviews, and much more. We require writers who are driven to succeed, have a way with words, and keep up with what's trending in the world of pop culture. We're looking for original, informative, and eye-catching articles.

As a Soap Opera Writer, you will be writing articles that provide in-depth analysis, timely news, and editorial features focused on daytime television. Collider covers a wide range of soap opera content including (but not limited to): General Hospital , The Young and the Restless , The Bold and the Beautiful , Days of Our Lives , Beyond the Gates ; and legacy soaps such as As the World Turns, Passions, One Life to Live, Guiding Light , and All My Children . If you share a passion for soap operas, a love of writing, and a willingness to dig into the drama behind the drama, then please apply.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute a minimum of 4 articles per week
  
   
• Work under tight deadlines and submit tasks on time
  
   
• Maintain a contracted freelance schedule
  
   
• Report to various editors and implement feedback efficiently
  
   
• Follow Collider’s in-house style guide
  
   

Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following requirements:

• Proven experience in writing, preferably about television or entertainment
  
   
• Ability to source timely and relevant information/news from different outlets
  
   
• Broad knowledge of daytime soap operas, both current and classic
  
   
• Strong familiarity with shows such as General Hospital , The Young and the Restless , The Bold and the Beautiful , Days of Our Lives , and As the World Turns
  
   
• A solid grasp of the English language and the ability to communicate niche ideas to a wide and passionate audience
• Ability to pitch shows with a clear, concise argument and strong supporting points, whether for timely coverage or long-term evergreen value
  
   
• Interest in character arcs, legacy storylines, cast news, and behind-the-scenes developments
  
   
• Understanding of the cultural impact of daytime TV and its dedicated fan base
