We are currently seeking a dedicated Elementary School Special Education Teacher for a contract this school year in Barnstable County, MA to cover a leave of absence.

Details You Should Know:

• Location: In-person (no virtual or hybrid option)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours
• Caseload: 8 students
• Grade Level: K-2
• Start Date: February 2025
• End Date: End of the 2025 school year

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Provide instruction in a variety of settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with parents and school administrators.
• Attend and participate in meetings related to students' education, including IEP meetings.

Qualifications :

• Valid MA State Teaching License with Special Education certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience working with students with special needs, including those with autism.
