Position: Special Education Teacher

Location: Gilroy Unified School District

Job Summary:

• Teach special education students in a specialized classroom setting, focusing on intensive language and speech programs, basic learning skills, and relevant subjects tailored to students' social, physical, and intellectual needs.
• Assess individual student needs to develop personalized educational plans (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Foster student independence and ability to follow classroom instructions.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote a productive learning environment with support from school administrators.
• Create a supportive environment to enhance positive student behavior, attitudes, and social skills.
• Integrate specialized classroom activities with the broader school curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• State certification/licensure in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
