**17363BR** **Title:** Sterile Processing Technician 2 **Department/Cost Center:** 743 - Sterile Processing **Job Description:** ***This position is 36 hours per week, weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 7:00am-7:30pm. Candidates must be available to work holidays as required.** Technician 2 completes inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization of surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts for the OR independently. Operates sterilizers, prepares and dispenses sterile items; performs inspection, adjusting, cleaning and general servicing of instruments and equipment for the OR, internal hospital departments and off-site agencies to insure instruments and equipment are operating properly prior to issuing. Technician II must also maintain an accuracy rating of 99% or higher and a productivity rate of 80% or higher. **Salary Range:** $24.02 - $29.89 an hour _The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Auto req ID:** 17363BR **Job Requirements:** **Qualifications:** 1. Education: **High school diploma or GED required.** Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited Central Service Technician certification program (CRCST or CSPDT); (i.e., incumbent employees as of 1/1/15 when the law changed were allowed to maintain the SPD Tech II role as there was evidence that he/she worked as Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015; 2. Experience: One year of experience in Sterile Processing preferred; but can progress from SPD Tech I to II once certified. 3. License/Certification: **CRCST or CSPDT certification required** 4. Skills: Able to understand written and oral direction as well as interpret equipment operation instructions.
