Interim Director of Medical Staff Services

Reid & Associates is partnering with a Southern California healthcare system to identify an experienced Interim Director of Medical Staff Services to provide on-site leadership during a period of transition and growth. This confidential interim opportunity supports two hospitals navigating a merger and requires a steady, hands-on leader who can bring structure, accountability, and collaboration to the medical staff services function.
Lead daily medical staff services operations across the system
Ensure full compliance with credentialing, privileging, and all applicable regulatory standards
Serve as the primary liaison between medical staff, hospital leadership, and internal support teams
Provide consistent, on-site leadership (this is not a remote or hybrid role)
Demonstrated experience in medical staff services (hospital or system-level experience preferred)
Strong communication skills with a calm, team-oriented leadership approach
Proven ability to lead through organizational change and align diverse stakeholders
CPMSM or CPCS certification strongly preferred, but not required
