Job Description

The marketing department at Subaru of New England (SNE), which functions as an internal creative agency, supports not only the initiatives of SNE, but also other brands under our owner’s portfolio.

We are adding to the team; this web designer will work closely with the team responsible for the marketing and web presence of Ferrari of New England, Boch Maserati, Boch Exotics, and Boch Muscle, as well as web sites under the Boch Family Foundation.

We are seeking a creative individual with strong web design skills and a keen understanding of the automotive industry, responsible for designing and maintaining visually appealing, compliant, user-friendly dealership websites that effectively showcase vehicles, promotions, and dealership services, while ensuring seamless navigation and lead generation capabilities. This ideal candidate understands and has experience with automotive-specific features like vehicle listing management and integration with dealership inventory systems.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Support four distinct dealership websites, while primary focus is on Boch Family Foundation websites.
  • Create and maintain visually engaging website layouts, incorporating brand guidelines, color schemes, and imagery that align with the dealership's identity, the brand’s guideline and appeal to potential car buyers.
  • Update photos, ensure pricing and copy are correct and compliant, ensure all disclosures are accurate and regularly load dealership and service specials.
  • Always ensure Brand Guidelines and covenants are met. Interact regularly with external brand’s marketing teams.
  • Manage monthly “change overs” and new promotions.
  • Collaborate with dealership management and personnel to develop and update website content, including vehicle descriptions, promotions, and blog posts.
  • Integrate dealership inventory systems to seamlessly display vehicle listings with accurate details, images, and pricing.
  • Ensure all websites are functioning optimally across different devices (desktops, tablets, mobile phones) to provide consistent user experience.
  • Implement best practices for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to improve website visibility and organic traffic. Work with external email marketing companies to generate communications with prospective customers.
  • Provide backend support for dealership pro-shop shopping platforms.
  • Track website performance using analytics tools to identify areas for improvement and optimize user experience. Work directly with automotive marketing companies.
  • Provide web support for other websites, including a non-profit music company, various pod-casts promotions, and additional Boch Family Foundation web activity.
  • Generate email blasts, and other targeted outreach.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ web design experience for existing brand or business.
  • Understanding design principles (layout, color theory, typography, composition) and proficiency in design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc). Ability to create visually appealing and brand-consistent graphics, icons, and imagery.
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles for various screen sizes.
  • Understanding of UX principles
  • Understanding SEO principles
  • Strong understanding of font pairings, hierarchy, and readability.
  • Proficiency in popular CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, etc.).
  • Ability to customize themes and templates.
  • Understanding of and experience with basic video editing (Adobe Premiere, Canva, etc)
  • Understanding of plugin/extension management.
  • Understanding of and experience with e-commerce platforms and best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot design and technical issues.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Flexibility to work on different brand styles.
  • Automotive industry knowledge a plus, especially car buying process, features and terminology.
