Job Description

Automotive Engine Specialist - Data Mining

Full relocation available – US Citizen or Green Card preferred - 1.5 OT after 40 hrs

Responsible for the analysis, organizing, and reporting of information collected from various systems for the Engine Production department in an automotive

manufacturing environment.

Description:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Continually review quality developments in area of responsibility and propose new quality projects as appropriate.
  • Develop reporting formats and methods, submitting periodic reports to management.
  • Report current projects, progress, and issues to management. Prepare presentations and reports as required.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mathematics, Information Management, or Computer Science preferred.

Related Experience:

  • 0-10 years related experience preferred.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database development, data mining, and segmentation techniques desired.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access
  • Visual Basic Access programming experience required
  • Python & C++ experience preferred

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call

duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
