Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Middle School Math Teacher. This is an immediate opening for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. We may have an opening at the High School for next year. We will consider someone looking to begin in September for next year. We are currently implementing a Critical Need Bonus for certified Math Teachers who successfully join our team of $7,500!

Base Salary SY24/25: $67,000- $87,000

Base Salary SY25/26: $69,000-89,000

Hours: 7:15-3:45

Competitive Raises year to year, many BONUS and Stipend opportunities, no Master's needed.

TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team. They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.

Examples of such teacher supports include:

• Abundant planning periods during the school day;
• A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials;
• High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item; and
• Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Teacher certification is required for this role. Candidate must hold a CE, CEAS, Limited CE, or Standard Certificate as a “Teacher of Mathematics” issued by the NJDOE. Grade 5-8 Math Extension is permitted for the Middle School role. Please only apply if certified.
