Job Summary: The Pastry Prep Cook supports the Pastry Chef in producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods for all food outlets and special events. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, executing recipes, and ensuring cleanliness and organization within the pastry kitchen. The ideal candidate has a passion for baking, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to food safety and consistency. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods including cakes, cookies, breads, pastries, and plated desserts.
• Scale and measure ingredients accurately according to recipes.
• Follow standardized recipes and instructions to ensure consistency.
• Assist with decorating pastries and desserts with precision and creativity.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
• Store ingredients and products properly to ensure freshness and quality.
• Support daily mise en place for service and event functions.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper labeling and storage.
• Communicate effectively with the Pastry Chef and other culinary team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in a commercial kitchen or pastry environment preferred.
• Culinary or baking/pastry education is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of pastry tools, equipment, and techniques.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes accurately.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Repetitive use of hands for chopping, mixing, and handling kitchen tools.
• Exposure to heat, cold, and moisture in a kitchen environment.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• $19.00-$21.00 per hour
