RESEARCH SCIENTIST

HOUSTON, TX

We are currently seeking a Research Scientist to join our team!

Biostate.AI aims to build a foundational model of biology that can predict the evolution of health and disease. For each subject, Biostate 's neural network will use past multiomic state information to predict future multiomic states, which in turn can be used to classify future disease state. Biostate's ultimate goal is to improve human healthspan, and proximally can facilitate biopharma drug development through accurate prediction of toxicology in preclinical research.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Research Scientist executes most of the Research & Development protocol activity which is vital to the success of the company. This position handles sensitive data and comes with a high degree of trust.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Experimental : Conceptualize and execute experiments, identifying resources needed. Design and Analysis : Carry out design and perform data analysis using specific tools and software as needed, with ability to summarize the different variables included. Able to perform simple modifications on mature algorithm. Data Interpretation : Identify the information content of an experiment, identify which questions the data answers and does not answer, making hypothesis identifying action items. Leadership : Communicate with technicians and peers to ensure that experiments are executed as they were conceptualized. Presentations : Carry out the effective presentation of the results collected for internal and external parties. Independence : Able to carry out the functions above, spending no more than 10% of time necessary with peers and supervisor to carry out said functions. Competencies : Advanced understanding of multiple molecular biology techniques, which includes but is not limited to PCR and NGS

6. Bioinformatics (e.g., reading and writing scripts to carry out data analysis using no-stock software)

Job Qualifications and Education:

PhD degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field

At least two (2) years of relevant experience in research

Strong communication skills and critical thinking skills

Highly organized and motivated person, with the enthusiasm necessary to learn and grow with the company.
