Job Description

Genesis Industrial is currently looking for a Scale Operatorto work with our client in Axis, AL. This work is in the environmental/waste industry. This is full time work paying up to $18.00/hr., the hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday.

• Weighing Vehicles and Materials: Operates the scale to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks loaded with scrap metal, trash, or recyclables.
• Recording Weights and Data: Logs weight readings, vehicle information, and material types into the computer system.
• Issuing Tickets or Receipts: Provides drivers with documentation showing the weight and value of their load, which is used for payment or inventory tracking.
• Inspecting Loads: May visually inspect materials to verify type, quality, or compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Customer Interaction: Greets drivers, explains procedures, and answers questions about pricing or policies.
• Data Entry and Reporting: Inputs data into software systems for inventory management, billing, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintaining Records: Keeps organized records of all transactions for auditing and operational purposes.

• Attention to Detail: Ensures accurate weight readings and documentation.
• Basic Math and Computer Skills: Calculates totals, enters data, and uses specialized software.
• Communication: Coordinates with yard workers, drivers, and management.
