As a Surgical Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting our providers during surgical procedures, ensuring a seamless and safe experience for our patients. Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures by taking vital signs, medical history, and providing pre-operative instructions.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by ensuring the sterile field is maintained and necessary instruments are readily available.
• Document surgical procedures and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
• Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and educate them about aftercare.
• Maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are properly sterilized and organized.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and manage patient communications.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar surgical environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and practices, particularly in dermatology.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software.
