Russell Tobin is seeking a Test Lab Equipment Operator for an American multinational corporation and technology company.

Job Title: Test Lab Equipment Operator

Location: Sunnyvale, CA 94085

Job Type: Contract

Length: 12-Months

Hours: 32 hours/week, 8 hours/day, 4 days/week

Pay Range: $27.00 - $29.06 per hour

Description:

The ideal candidate should have experience with PCB testing, particularly with complex semi-automated test equipment that requires attention to detail and consistency. Responsibilities include inputting, updating, and maintaining records related to the movement of units and fixture maintenance. The candidate will also assist engineering teams in setting up and qualifying test stations by following instructions and performing initial tests for qualification. They will support the planning team in organizing lab spaces and ensuring equipment is up to date. Some documentation of procedures may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• SMT process support (printing, PnP/reflow, programming – vendor support for programming)
• Conducting various tests such as drop testing, thermal cycling, and shear/pull strength (including machine setup)
• Cross-sectioning (potting, dicing, grinding, polishing)
• Measurement and analysis using X-ray and microscopes
• Lab maintenance, primarily supporting vendors (with vendors handling the main tasks)

Skills:

• Fast learner with the ability to understand and follow complex instructions and procedures.
• Proficient with computers and data entry; Excel and Word skills are required, and experience with Filemaker is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical environment.
• Able to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality output.
• Positive attitude with a strong willingness to contribute to process improvements.
• Capable of accurately recording test results according to established procedures.
• Able to lift and move some equipment as needed.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field preferred
