FLOOR COVERING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTOR

Department: Workforce Education

Pay Range: $40 - $50 Per Hour - Salary is commensurate with experience.

Appointment Type: Contractor

Work Schedule: September-November 2025, Evenings 4-8pm (2 days/week) & Schedule TBD; January-May 2026; and September-November 2026.

NHTI-Concord’s Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in contract teaching at the College in a classroom and on job site setting; strong instructional background is preferred. The focus area is floor covering installation (carpet, resilient, hardwood, and tile)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: An earned associate degree or certificate from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
• Or:High School diploma or GED with minimum of journeyman level certification and/or Master certification preferred. Minimum of 3 years of flooring installation experience and current knowledge of the field. Computer/Technical Skills: Internet, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Zoom. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with classroom teaching.
• Higher education or workforce teaching experience in the flooring installation field.

Scope of Work:

To coordinate course, course delivery and program activities for non-credit Floor Covering Installation at NHTI. The position is a contractual, temporary position for a specified contract period with potential to continue into future semesters.

As a member of our skilled trade faculty, your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching program-specific content in-person, following established curriculum guidelines.
• Preparing instructional materials, conducting labs, and administering tests.
• Creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters student growth.
• Providing guidance and encouragement to students, preparing them for successful careers in the floor covering industry.
• Maintaining effective communication with students and staff.
• Conducting lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities both in-person and online.
• Aligning instruction with course objectives and submitting grades, attendance, and reports in a timely manner.
