This position may be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 3 year committment.

Job Summary

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices.


• Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.


• Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist is required, or Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Scientist experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT.


• Willing to consider new MLS graduates. 

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from ASCP or AMT required within one year of hire.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday Evenings from 3:00pm-11:30pm; Occasional day shift hours for the clinic included 


• Rotation of every 3rd weekend.holiday: Overnight from 11pm to 7am


• Full time; 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
